Veterans Multi-Service Center is Hiring an Employment Specialist Near Wilmington, DE
Since 1980, the Veterans Multi-Service Center (VMC) has been providing comprehensive resources and services to address the multiple needs of Veterans of all wars and conflicts. VMC’s programs and aid have grown to recognize, address and advocate for the evolving needs of Veterans of the U.S. military and their families throughout the Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.
The Employment Specialist will work from our Wilmington and/or Dover Delaware offices with two major functions; supporting veteran clients in job searching and successfully securing employment and creating relationships with local employers. Must possess a passion for working with people and aiding clientele. Work as an integral member of a collaborative team in providing the best services to clients who are actively seeking employment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain relationships with employers to facilitate interviews and job placements of program participants.
- Effectively market and represent the program, its clients and services to employers to engage participation
- Assess, determine, provide and make referrals to employment opportunities. Assist clients in accessing appropriate resources (including other service agencies) to increase employment opportunities
- Assist with client’s interview skills, resumes, computer job search and training
- Evaluate and modify action plan and goals as needed, identify client's strengths and weaknesses.
- Maintain regular and courteous communications with clients (including face-to-face meetings)
- Support organizational events, including job fairs and fundraisers
- Actively collaborate with Case Manager's to identify client’s employment needs
- Compile records and prepare reports for the Program Manager, gather and analyze job trends.
- Maintain, ensure, respect confidentiality and privacy
- Actively participate in team meetings and communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Have a working knowledge and compliance of program policies and procedures
